The Hard Work
Dedicated to the hard work that needs to be done at the intersection of society and emergency medicine.

My Story
Eric Jaeger, JD, NRP is an emergency medical educator, paramedic & attorney.
A focus of his current work is reducing the risk of death associated with the restraint of agitated individuals. He has worked with EMS agencies across the country to provide updated training and protocols and has trained hundreds of EMS providers. He has spoken at major national and state conferences, including NAEMSP (Nat’l Assoc of EMS Physicians) and EMS World. He is a resource for the news media on issues related to EMS and death in custody. He has developed updated EMS protocols on restraint and sedation. For nearly 20 years, he has focused on medico-legal issues including restraint, consent and patient competency and capacity. His training and experience as an attorney combined with his clinical experience as a paramedic provides him with the qualifications to address the challenging legal, ethical and medical issues surrounding safe physical and chemical restraint
Eric earned his BS in Computer Science from MIT and his Law Degree from Boston College. He worked for ten years as an attorney, serving healthcare clients in Boston and beyond. Until recently, Eric served as the EMS Educator at Exeter Hospital in Seacoast New Hampshire, where he was responsible for providing education for Exeter's ALS Intercept paramedics, the emergency department staff and surrounding EMS agencies. As a paramedic, Eric cared for patients in the emergency department and the field.
