Terms and Conditions

Effective date: November 6, 2026

These Terms govern your use of thehardwork.org and the course site at learn.thehardwork.org (the "Sites"), operated by Eric Jaeger, doing business as TheHardWork.org ("we", "us"). By using the Sites, creating an account or buying a course, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Who may use the Sites

The Sites are for adults. You must give accurate information when you register and keep your account secure. You are responsible for activity under your account, and each learner needs an individual account.

Courses, enrollment and payment

Prices and course details are shown at checkout. Payment is processed by Stripe. An enrollment is complete when payment is confirmed and your account shows access. Agency or group purchases are handled by separate arrangement, and each learner still uses an individual account.

Access period

There is no fixed time limit to complete a course after you enroll. CE credit, however, can be claimed only while the CAPCE activity is current. If you do not complete the course before the CAPCE activity number expires (currently October 20, 2029), you can no longer claim CE credit for it, and no refund is due. Course access is for you alone and may not be shared or transferred.

Refunds

Refund requests are considered case by case. Once access to a course begins, fees are not refundable. If you were charged in error, charged twice, or cannot access a course for a reason we cannot fix, contact us and we will review it. Send requests to the support address below with your registered email and the course title.

Completion, certificates and CE credit

  • To complete a course you must finish all required videos, knowledge checks, the final assessment and the post-course evaluation. The passing score and number of attempts are set for each course and stated in its instructions.

  • A certificate is issued when the requirements are met. A certificate is not the same as CAPCE reporting confirmation.

  • CE credit is available only on the CE pathway, which requires accurate credential information and acknowledgment of the CAPCE privacy statement. "Learning Only" enrollment does not provide CAPCE credit. The Death in Custody course is a CAPCE-accredited 3-hour course; the activity number is 26-THHW-F3-2601.

  • Your state EMS office, NREMT, employer or other credentialing body decides whether a course meets your renewal requirements. We do not guarantee acceptance by any outside agency, and credit may not post automatically to a state or NREMT account.

  • You are responsible for entering accurate name, credential and expiration details. Corrections after reporting may take time and may require CAPCE review.

Educational content

Course content is educational and is described further in our Educational Use Disclaimer. It is not a substitute for medical direction, local protocols or legal counsel.

Intellectual property

The Sites, courses, videos, slides, quizzes and written materials belong to us or our licensors. You may use them for your own personal learning. You may not copy, record, redistribute, resell or use them to train other courses or systems without our written permission.

Acceptable use

You may not share your login, bypass course controls such as video gating or quiz rules, have someone else complete coursework for you, interfere with the Sites, or use them unlawfully. We may suspend or end access for violations, without refund.

Third-party links and services

The Sites link to and rely on third-party services, including payment, video and CAPCE. We are not responsible for them.

Disclaimer and limits of liability

The Sites and courses are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim relating to a course is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New Hampshire, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

Changes

We may update these Terms. The effective date shows the latest version. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
